The City of Myrtle Beach is completing the revitalization of Futrell Park, located at 1053 Futrell Drive. The city is focusing on development and growth and this project has been a major effort to bring the park up to date to better serve the community. Improvements have included new playground equipment and a walking path, as well as a new pavilion and picnic area.
The park is being designed to provide a safe and healthy environment for all ages. Features include an outdoor fitness area and a splash pad for children. Other amenities will include restrooms and a concession stand.

The Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, a volunteer organization, recently broke ground on its 20,000-square foot ReStore facility. More than a thrift store, the new project is a vital financial component to support its mission to build safe, decent, and affordable homes for Horry County families in need.
Expected to open by the end of 2023, the facility is located at 2191 E. Highway 9 in Longs. The ReStore will allow the organization to expand new home construction, maintenance and repair activities, financial literacy programs, and community impact projects. Most of the furnishing and construction materials for sale in the store will be acquired through donations by residents and businesses.
