Surfside Beach Dog-Friendly

Our real estate agents often talk about how much we enjoy life in Surfside Beach, but we're not the only ones who think it's a great place to live. One of the best things about our part of the world is how dog-friendly it is.

When you and your pooch are looking for things to do in Surfside Beach, you're in luck. These are some of the best pet-friendly attractions and restaurants in the area.

  • Surfside Beach Bark Park - 412 1st Ave N, Surfside Beach, SC 29575
One of the premier dog parks in the Surfside Beach area, Surfside Beach Bark Park is a great place to let dogs run and play off-leash. The park offers separate fenced-in areas for large dogs and small dogs, and it's open every day of the week except Wednesday when it's closed for cleaning. Located near many Surfside Beach homes for sale, Surfside Beach Bark Park offers plenty of room to run, and it's also a good place to meet some friendly dogs and dog parents.

  • Dagwood's Deli & Sports Bar - 600 US-17 BUS, Surfside Beach, SC 29575
Surfside Beach has no shortage of pet-friendly eateries, but Dagwood's Deli & Sports Bar has earned a reputation as one of the most accommodating for four-legged friends. The restaurant features a spacious outdoor patio where dogs are more than welcome to accompany you for your meal. The waiters are even known to bring dog biscuits out, ensuring that no canine feels left out. For human diners, Dagwood's serves tasty pub grub, including some seriously next-level sandwiches.

  • Pizza Hyena - 13 Ocean Blvd S, Surfside Beach, SC 29575
The wood-fired pizzas at Pizza Hyena are some of the best in town, with specialty pies on the menu ranging from the traditional to the inventive. Try the 'Belly Laugh,' topped with seared pork belly, fresh mozzarella, caramelized onion, pineapple, and rustic red sauce. Pizza Hyena's pet-friendly patio, which is right across the street from the beach, is the perfect place to enjoy a pizza in the company of a canine companion.

  • Myrtle Beach State Park - 4401 S Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29575
Located between Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach, Myrtle Beach State Park is one of the largest and most popular parks in the area. It also has a large array of pet-friendly amenities. Leashed pets are permitted in the park's campground and on its hiking trails and picnic areas. Dogs are also allowed on the beach, but only outside of the hours from 10 am to 5 pm. Myrtle Beach State Park is just minutes from these Myrtle Beach homes for sale, and it sits in the middle of several miles of publicly accessible beaches.

  • Gracious Pig Smokehouse - 12 Ocean Blvd S, Surfside Beach, SC 29575
An authentic pit barbecue joint located a mere block from the ocean in Surfside Beach, Gracious Pig Smokehouse is as gracious to its canine visitors as it is to its patrons. Water bowls are provided for pooches on the covered porch, which is lined with rustic wood tables and chairs. The staff is very dog-friendly, and the food is outstanding. The portions at Gracious Pig Smokehouse are generous enough that you might even have a bite or two of smoked turkey or brisket left over for Fido.
