The Myrtle Beach Polar Plunge is one of several Polar Plunge fundraising events held each year in support of the Special Olympics of South Carolina. Participants who raise at least $50 are challenged to wade into the freezing waters of the Atlantic Ocean, proving their mettle with a fun activity that makes for some great social media pictures.
Once you've done your plunge and watched fellow pledgers do the same, stick around to:
This year's event is scheduled for Jan. 31st from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sands Ocean Club Resort. Plunges happen in waves, with a new one every hour starting at 10:30 a.m.
Shuckin' on the Strand is the largest oyster roast event on the Grand Strand, drawing hundreds of seafood lovers from nearby cities for an all-day oyster feast. This year's event will take place on Feb. 8th from noon to 4 p.m. at the Hot Fish Club in Murrells Inlet, just south of Myrtle Beach proper.
Standard adult tickets are $50 and include all-you-can-eat oysters with horseradish, cocktail sauce, and crackers, as well as a plate of chicken bog and two beers. You can also purchase children's tickets for $10 and adult tickets with no oyster bar access for $20. All proceeds go to Substitutes for Santa, a local charity that provides Christmas gifts and holiday food to children in need.
From March 19th to March 21st, the 2026 Run to the Sun Car Show will be operating on the grounds of the old Myrtle Square Mall. Organizers expect this year's exhibition to feature more than 3,000 vintage cars and trucks from across the Southeast.
The cars are the main attraction, but visitors will also enjoy two special guest appearances:
The show will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Tickets purchased online cost $20 per day or $35 for all three days. Ticket prices at the door are usually higher, so buy early. Discounts are available for military members, veterans, and their families. Kids under 12 get in for free with a paying adult.
Myrtle Beach's 2026 Ground Zero Dragon Boat Festival is scheduled for April 25th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. On this day, Grand Park's Grand Lake will fill up with elaborately decorated boats crewed by groups of up to 20 paddlers. The boats will race each other across the water in a practice derived from Ancient Chinese traditions.
In addition to the race, there will also be:
Country music is the heart and soul of South Carolina. The Carolina Country Music Fest celebrates that deep cultural resonance with a four-day concert series scheduled for June 4th to 7th, 2026. Some of this year's featured artists include:
Tickets cost $319 (plus fees) for general admission to all four days of concerts. Main Stage VIP and Super VIP packages are available for those who want an even more exciting experience.

Attendees will listen to live music from Karlton Jones, Kayla the Love Note, and other talented musicians from around the country.
